About Västkuststiftelsen

Västkuststiftelsen is a non-profit organisation dedicated to nature conservation and outdoor recreation in West Sweden.

Since 1962, we have been managing and improving access to nature areas across Halland and Västra Götaland. We manage approximately 300 nature reserves and coordinate beach clean-ups from Kungsbacka in the south, to Strömstad in the north. We also coordinate the development and maintenance of cycling and hiking trails throughout Västra Götaland.

We aim to inspire safe and sustainable outdoor activities, both through our digital channels and in nature —for example by organizing a large number of free guided hikes each year.

Västkuststiftelsens work is carried out on behalf of county administrative boards, municipalities, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and other organisations.

Our conservation work is the foundation for everything we do. Healthy and thriving natural environments are essential for sustainable development and for making outdoor experiences enjoyable and accessible.💚💙
